Oeuf Sparrow Cribs Recalled Over Risk of Entrapment

A risk of entrapment and suffocation results in thousands of Sparrow baby cribs being recalled by Oeuf.

Approximately 14,000 Oeuf Sparrow infant cribs are being recalled due to the potential for the slats and top rails to become detached, putting children at risk for entrapment and suffocation. The Sparrow crib recall was announced by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) on July 22, following reports of at least four incidents where side slats and spindles disconnected from the crib’s top rail. Models Affected by Sparrow Crib Recall

No injuries have been reported to date in connection with the recalled baby cribs, but safety officials warn that infants using the cribs may suffer serious injuries if the pieces detach and fall into the crib or leave dangerous gaps in the spindles. The recalled infant cribs were manufactured in Latvia by New York-based Ouef LLC, between July 2007 and January 2014, and were sold nationwide at independent juvenile specialty stores and online, for about $800.
