Oeuf Sparrow Cribs Recalled Over Risk of Entrapment
A risk of entrapment and suffocation results in thousands of Sparrow baby cribs being recalled by Oeuf.
Approximately 14,000 Oeuf Sparrow infant cribs are being recalled due to the potential for the slats and top rails to become detached, putting children at risk for entrapment and suffocation. The Sparrow crib recall was announced by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) on July 22, following reports of at least four incidents where side slats and spindles disconnected from the crib’s top rail. If your child has suffered injuries or been killed while using a defective consumer product, such as Oeuf’s recalled Sparrow cribs, contact a knowledgeable lawyer today for legal help. You may have grounds to file a product liability lawsuit against the product manufacturing company, in order to seek fair and timely reimbursement for your losses.
Models Affected by Sparrow Crib Recall
No injuries have been reported to date in connection with the recalled baby cribs, but safety officials warn that infants using the cribs may suffer serious injuries if the pieces detach and fall into the crib or leave dangerous gaps in the spindles. Children may also be at risk for entrapment or suffocation due to the crib’s heavy side wall slats, which, in cases where the slats collapse, may trap them between the mattress and the railings. Four models of the Oeuf Sparrow cribs are affected by the recall, including the following model numbers:
The recalled infant cribs were manufactured in Latvia by New York-based Ouef LLC, between July 2007 and January 2014, and were sold nationwide at independent juvenile specialty stores and online, for about $800.
